POST 1

Well I've been thinking about starting a cricket blog for a while now.And well here that is.

So I've spent the past 72 hours writing up three different drafts for my first post.It was supposed to be about what this game means to me.And each time,at the end of the day when i read what i had written,i deleted it all. Somehow what i was writing was nowhere close to that feeling i was trying to get across.
And so i decided it was time to drop the idea.Maybe i wasn't cut out to be a sharda ugra or a harsha bhogle,Maybe i should jus stick to random ramblings about our existence in this world at this time.

and then yesterday, I got back on the ground.

the blue cloudless sky,a hint of early morning dew on fresh cut green outfields, the warmth of white tracks. That rush of adrenaline when you step onto the field.Surrounded by brothers of a common destiny.A slow cool breeze wafting across your face, that feeling when you get the new ball in your hand, all shiny and full of promise. That rush of adrenaline when you start your run-up and in that fleeting moment when you release the ball, all illusions of control lost, you realise this is what life is about.giving your best and hoping that's good enough.

the sheer joy of watching the stumps topple over, bails ricocheted into the air.
the sense of loathing,at yourself when u know that ball deserved to reach the boundary
and the sense of irritation when someone drops a sitter at 1st slip.

This game teaches you everything you need to know in life.when you need to bat 60 overs to bring home that draw...that's patience.
when your the bowler who's bowled 59 overs to the above batsmen, still hoping he'll play something wrong....that's perseverance.
When the guy finally makes a mistake and that clutz at first slip drops it,you let it go..because that's life teaching you that shit happens.
And when at the last bowl before stumps on day 5,you manage to clip off stump and bring home the win, that 's just life's way of telling you that in the end, everythings gonna be ok.

so here's to this amazing game.and here's hoping i write more than 2 bits to this blog
